Project: Elton Footbridge

ScrewFast’s site team were on site this week and completed the installation of 8 helical piles with 2 Grillages to support a footbridge in Elton, Cambridgeshire.

In just 3 day shifts the screwpiles were installed to a depth of 5.5m, close to the river bank. The ScrewFast piling system does not require excavation, therefore the proximity of the foundations to the river bank and the wet soil conditions does not impact the installation. The steel foundation solution design by the ScrewFast technical team also meant that no spoil needed to be removed from this remote location.

One of the many advantage of steel foundations is the ability to maintain social distancing, and ScrewFast completed the installation working to Covid-19 compliance using just two on-site operatives.
